Kenneth Engelhardt told us that this hanger comes from a laundry shop.

“My father took his suit to be dry cleaned for a funeral. Other than at funerals my father never wore a suit. The clothes hanger is engraved with a four-digit phone number which indicates it is from a while ago. Today phone numbers in Curaçao have seven digits. When I grew up in the 1970s most laundry shops were run by Afro-Curaçaoans. There was only one in the Bandariba area in Santa Rosa. Nowadays most laundry shops are in the hands of Chinese Curaçaoans. I found this in a cabinet when my parents were renovating their house.”
