Tzigane Ochoa Rodriguez, better known as Rosemary, is 19 years old, and her favorite object is a walkingstick that belonged to her great-grandmother, Adriana Britt. Rosemary was very close to her great-grandmother; they spent a lot of time together. Every time Ros sees the walkingstick , she is reminded of the woman who raised her mother and gave so much love to the entire family.

The walkingstick symbolizes not only tenderness and care but also discipline. Her great-grandmother used the walkingstick to play with them—but also to keep them in line when they didn’t listen. That was just her way. On December 27, 2024, Rosemary’s great-grandmother passed away. That day broke a part of her heart. But the walkingstick she used remained as a special bond between Rosemary and her great-grandmother. No matter how many new brushes were bought afterward, none could replace that one—the one she always preferred. Now, the family keeps the walkingstick at home as a cherished memory.

For Rosemary, it’s more than just a tool; it’s a reminder of patience, love, and strength. Every time she sees it, she feels her great-grandmother close to her. And in every moment Ros feels discouraged, she thinks of the care and wisdom her great-grandmother used to share—and that walkingstick gently brings her back into her grandmother’s embrace.

It’s more than just a tool; it’s a reminder of patience, love, and strength.
